Why does EMO so popular?

I can't understand why do people love EMO fashion so much.
I can't understand why do people call themselves EMO since all people are EMO or emotional.

I just observed that there are such no special factor in EMO. Yes, i admit that i am attracted sometimes in their fashion(chosen). But, sometimes I got pissed with it especially when an EMO GUYS are putting eyeliners and lipsticks; so GAY!

I just love the colors that are match with black like green or pink and the hairstyles.

So, do you like emo or not?
